Lab MGM leaders have visited Singapore's CAVR twice, in 2019 and 2022, to learn from and discuss cooperation with one of the region's AR and VR research centres.

The Centre for Augmented and Virtual Reality, known as CAVR, sits within Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. It is an intercollege centre that combines education and training with research in AR and VR, and it operates in partnership with the technology provider EON Reality. Lab MGM's leadership has visited CAVR on two occasions, in 2019 and again in 2022, in what has so far been a relationship of visits and discussion rather than a signed bilateral agreement between MGM and NTU.
NTU's own records note that a delegation from Universitas Brawijaya visited CAVR on April 18, 2019, where the visitors were shown the centre's range of AR and VR equipment and given an explanation of CAVR's role within NTU. Lab MGM leadership was among those who took part in that trip.

Lab MGM returned to CAVR in December 2022, this time as part of a broader trip through Singapore aimed at initiating cooperation with international university and industry partners around the interactive media stream that Lab MGM manages within FILKOM's curriculum. FILKOM's own writeup frames the visit as an initiation of cooperation and a look at curriculum improvement, language that points to an early-stage relationship rather than a finalized partnership agreement.
It was through this same CAVR connection that Lab MGM's delegation was introduced to EON Reality, the centre's industry partner, and to the AR, VR, and XR discussions that followed on that trip. CAVR functions here as the bridge between an Indonesian research group and Singapore's wider AR and VR ecosystem, more than as a partner MGM has a direct agreement with.
That distinction matters for how this relationship should be read. CAVR is a university facility that hosts visiting delegations from many institutions, and being shown its equipment or introduced to its partners is not the same as holding a joint research agreement with NTU. What the two visits do show is a sustained interest, spanning several years, in learning from a well established regional centre before committing Lab MGM to any specific line of AR or VR work of its own.
FILKOM's and NTU's own accounts consist of two documented visits, in 2019 and 2022, each described in terms of exchange and initiation rather than a signed cooperation agreement between Lab MGM and NTU.
